This very early Flash, made in 2004, was my first attempt at a serious movie.. the graphical "quality" is just embarrassing by my current standards, but at the time I thought it was just dandy. It was inspired by a dream in which I saw a certain symbol on the side of a UFO, which perplexed me. It seems that about 95% of people got the point, but the remaining 5% communicated their displeasure quite loudly. Originally I thought that I should have used some other random country as the "star" to keep the 5% happy, but then I realized that the attitude of "That's crazy, this could never happen, we're better than that" is the very thought process (or lack there of) which actually causes it to happen, so maybe it's better to test the waters than to live in a fantasy land. This is honestly just a movie, and the only thing which could make it real is if enough people don't even think it's possible to be real.
- The guy wandering around for no apparent is not supposed to be asian.. he's just.. not drawn very well. - Yes, the sound is from "Star Wars", and no, the ships aren't from this-or-that computer game I've never heard of. - This was the first, and last, time that I traced anything for a movie; The Statue of Liberty, and the Flyborg logo (which I eventually re-drew at the end of 2006). - The pilot was copy-and-pasted from and even earlier and worse drawn movie which I never completed. |
